Founders Sheri Mitschelen and Tracey Wilson of The Heart Leaf Center, a nonprofit organization, have dedicated themselves to providing affordable mental health counseling for children. As the focus for this episode of Faces of Fairfax City, Heart Leaf specializes in play therapy to allow children to comfortably express themselves while working with their parents to create a family system. Knowing that school can be the hardest place for children, The Heart Leaf Center plans to partner with Fairfax City schools through the Community and School Therapy partnership.
