Red Hot & Blue

In 1988, the inaugural Red Hot & Blue restaurant emerged in Arlington, VA, through the collaborative efforts of a group of friends who shared Southern roots, a profound appreciation for authentic Memphis-style bar-b-que, and a love for blues music. Notably, Tennessee Congressman and later Governor Don Sundquist, alongside his associates Wendell Moore and Joel Wood, and PBS White House Correspondent Bob Friedman, embarked on this culinary and musical journey.

The restaurant pays unwavering homage to the profound influence of the blues on American culture, ensuring a lasting tribute to this enduring musical heritage. Red Hot & Blue’s menu entails hickory smoked meat ribs, pulled pork (barbecue), smoked chicken, tender beef brisket, smoked sausage, southern fried catfish, and their exclusive lines of signature barbecue sauces. Guests can savor not only the restaurant’s own signature flavors but also traditional barbecue styles from Memphis, Texas, North Carolina, and other regional favorites.
