Fairfax City, VA – Fairfax City’s Economic Development Office (EDO) is implementing a new community-based eGift Card program, the Fairfax City Flex Card. The Fairfax City Flex Card is an eGift Card program where 100% of all gift card sales remain within Fairfax City.

The Flex Card is set to launch on October 8th at the annual Fall Festival, where the EDO will sponsor a Flex Card giveaway and encourage shoppers to redeem their eGift Cards at participating businesses. The inaugural list of Flex Card businesses includes well known city businesses such as Capital Ale House, Ornery Beer Company, Dante Salon and Wellness Spa, JoyLife Spa, DIY Scent Studio, and others. The EDO will run Flex Card promotions throughout the year to encourage participation. Special promotions are currently scheduled during Small Business Saturday and a Buy One Get One will be offered during the holiday season.

“The Flex Card is one of our many programs focusing on strengthening the city’s economic base, promoting businesses, and shopping local,” said Christopher Bruno, Director of Economic Development. “We are excited to offer this new eGift Card program that supports our city businesses, provides versatile gifting options, and makes it easier and more convenient for residents and visitors to shop local.”

City of Fairfax Mayor, David Meyer adds, “This program exemplifies how the city is dedicated to supporting local businesses and demonstrates our commitment to cultivating a thriving business community. Our citizens have a long and proud history of supporting our city’s local businesses, and this type of unique program represents yet another way of lifting up the business community.”
