Fairfax City Economic Development Authority Elects Leadership for Fiscal Year 2026

The Fairfax City Economic Development Authority (EDA) held its scheduled June meeting this week, during which new leadership for the upcoming fiscal year 2026 was elected.  

 

The Authority uses a commissioner-led nominating committee to elect officers from among the seven appointed commissioners. These officers will represent the EDA in front of state and local officials, industry partners, prospective businesses, and other economic development agencies. In addition to these duties, they also assist Fairfax City Economic Development in advancing programs and initiatives that align with the FCED strategic work plan, while handling the Authority’s meeting agenda and priorities.

 

Starting July 1, 2025, the newly elected officials will assume their roles for Fiscal Year 2026: 

 

  • Chair Jeffrey Hermann
  • Vice Chair Patrick Soleymani
  • Treasurer Dawn McGruder
  • Secretary Mitchell Cho

We are grateful for the members of the Fairfax City Economic Development Authority and their willingness to serve at such a pivotal time for our agency, our city, and the region. Building on a strong foundation, this new slate of commissioners is poised to expand Fairfax City's brand further into new markets—both regionally and internationally—while advancing bigger projects, deeper partnerships, and greater impact for our local Fairfax City economy.
